Video FAQ

The video keeps pausing while I'm watching it.
Slow connection speeds may prevent a video from playing continuously over the network. For the best viewing experience use a broadband connection with at least 500 Kbps. If you are already using a high-speed connection, it’s possible your network is experiencing high traffic, or the video server is too busy. Try looking at the video some other time. If none of these suggestions correct the problem, maybe your computer is either slow, or not configured for optimum performance.

The video won't play.
All our videos are streamed through a Flash player. You should have the latest version of Adobe Flash installed on your computer. To download it, visit Adobe.

Videos freeze when they are loading.
There are several situations that could freeze a video when it is loading.

First, verify you are connected on a broadband network with a speed of at least 500 Kbps.

If you are connected through a high-speed network, your firewall or security software may be preventing streaming videos from being loaded. If you have a firewall, try temporarily disabling it to see if the videos load. If they work, adjust your firewall settings to permit streaming media to pass through your firewall. If you do not know how to do this contact the manufacturer of your firewall or consult with a computer technician.

Freezing may also be caused by another streaming application competing for the video stream. Determine what other streaming applications are installed on your computer like RealPlayer, QuickTime, and Windows Media Player. Verify they are not configured as the default player for streaming media.

There is a QuickTime logo displayed on my video player.
If a QuickTime logo is shown on your video player and you are unable to play videos, make sure QuickTime isn't your default Flash player. To check your QuickTime settings:

  1. Open your QuickTime Player.
  2. Select "Edit" in the menu bar.
  3. Select "Preferences," then choose "QuickTime Preferences."
  4. Select the "Browser" tab.
  5. Select "MIME Settings."
  6. In the "MIME Types" box, verify the "Miscellaneous" option is not selected.
  7. Select "OK," "Apply," and "OK."
  8. Restart your computer.
