Where the Sun Don't Shine: The dark side of the human-companion animal bond

 In the past five decades our relationship with companion animals has become increasingly intimate and symbolic. And, aside from cases of physical abuse, this is commonly viewed as a beneficial experience for human and animal alike. However, such is not necessarily the case. This presentation briefly will explore the other, often overlooked or denied darker aspects of the human-companion animal bond as these affect animal-care professionals, their clients, and the animals with whom they both interact.

I’m so excited about this opportunity to present a six-hour seminar for this organization in lovely Portland, Maine that I’m posting it even though I haven’t settled on my final topic yet.
