What to Look for when Purchasing Supplements

What implies good quality? Unfortunately, this is an area where price doesn’t always reflect quality. You might be surprised to hear there are only a handful of nutritional supplement manufacturers and most of them use the same raw materials to create their supplements. The main difference between various nutritional supplement brands are the additional ingredients used to make the products. These are called excipients or fillers. In other cases, some companies spend more of their time and money for marketing and less on research and development.

When purchasing your nutritional supplements from a natural product store, ask a staff member to recommend a few good quality products (not just one). Ask why they are being recommended, what qualities they each have and how they differ from one another. Many supplement companies hold product seminars for natural product store employees and train their staff members on the benefits of using their products.

Many Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) companies profess to have the highest quality products. In some cases this may be true. However, when you buy a MLM product from someone, you are also rewarding the people who sponsored them. Consequently, their prices tend to be inflated.
