All Natural Cranberry Sauce Recipe

Basic and simple, this cranberry sauce recipe is a good starting point for all your cranberry-sauce making! Cranberry sauce made from scratch allows you to leave out preservatives and control sugar content, and this cranberry sauce recipe is super simple to make. You'll never buy the canned stuff again!

Ingredients:

12 ounces (about 2 cups) cranberries

3/4 cup sugar, or sucanat or turbinado, which are less refined sugars (honey can be used but flavor changes slightly)

3/4 cup water (or organic cider, apple juice, orange juice)

juice of 1 lemon

Directions:

Place all ingredients in a saucepan over medium high heat. Bring to a boil. Simmer and allow berries to pop and mixture to thicken. This only takes 7 to 15 minutes.

Additional Tips:

*Stir in orange zest if desired

*Stir in almond slivers or dried cherries or fresh ginger.
