Spinach Pear Smoothie

I have to admit I was never much of a fan of these really healthy-looking green veggie smoothies! I mean, a spinach drink…really? Nutritious, yes, I had no doubt, but at what cost, I thought (not for this French foodie here). Well, I was wrong! This spinach pear smoothie is so refreshing and satisfying, just slightly sweet and surprisingly, not overly “spinachy” (!) I love it–It’s just perfect after my favorite Zumba workout!

Serves: 1

1 cup loose-leaf fresh baby spinach (rinsed)
1 cup water
1 ripe pear (unpeeled, rinsed and quartered)
1 cup of ice

Place the spinach and water in a blender and mix for 10-15 seconds.
Add the remaining ingredients and continue to blend until thoroughly smooth.
