What is Colloidal silver?
It's a naturally occurring liquid dietary mineral supplement. Silver particle size must be between 1-10 Nanometers to be considered a colloidal solution. Any size above these parameters is not a colloid. Silver Wings' silver size is between only 1-3 nanometers. This smaller, the better.
Is there a difference in the colloidal silvers on the market?
Yes. There are two different types of colloidal silver on the market: IONIC and ATOMIC which is better as explained below.
First- the two most important things in shopping colloidal silver:
-- Colloidal silver particle size: The smaller the better—(safe, diluted, better absorbed).
-- The amount of silver parts per million: The higher the better—(stronger immune support)
IONIC colloidal silver is electrically processed, and typically contains salt. Manufacturing this type of silver requires placing two silver anodes (poles) in water with salt, and electrically pulling silver off of the poles. Due to it being inexpensive to manufacture, it's the most common type of silver on the market. This type of colloidal silver will always be a clear color liquid because it only has 10 parts per million (ppm) which is very weak! Ionic colloidal silver is missing an electron rendering it unstable. Over time, most of these ionic colloidal silvers will have many particles clumping together with larger than colloid sized particles. When testing some of the leading ionic colloidal silver manufacturers at qualified independent testing laboratories, their solutions ranged between 900-1746 nanometers in size which is not good! If it were a higher ppm, then the particles would clump together more quickly, rendering it unstable and unsafe.
ATOMIC colloidal silver is best choice, here's why. It consists of a full silver atom, which is not missing any electrons. It is as nature intended. Due to its stability at higher concentrations, it's common for atomic colloidal silver manufacturers to produce higher parts per million. As a rule, the higher the parts per million (ppm)- the darker the amber color liquid. Atomic silver is not tainted nor expired as ionic manufacturers falsely state... instead, it simply has more silver which is visible proof of the higher silver concentration which is what you want and paying for.
Silver Wings' atomic colloidal silver has very small particle size- ranging between only 1-3 nanometers compared to the ionic above. Silver Wings' higher ppm makes it a much better value compared to weaker ionic 10ppm brands. Atomic colloidal silver manufactured in an FDA-inspected facility (such as Natural Path Silver Wings) is also SAFE.
Is it safe?
Yes. We have not found any known side effects in consuming our properly prepared colloidal silver since our inception in 1994. Silver Wings' products are independent laboratory tested and manufactured in an FDA-inspected facility.
Is colloidal silver something new?
No. Colloidal silver has been used since the early 1900's. The silver mineral itself has been safeguarding health for many generations. Silver usage has been recorded as far back as over 2,400 years with ancient civilizations. In 400 BC, Hippocrates, (The Father of Medicine) had journaled about silver's notable uses. Silver has also been used topically on skin for generations worldwide.
Does it lose potency?
Silver Wings' colloidal silver maintains its colloidal state indefinitely. On the other hand, ionic colloidal silvers often separate, form a precipitate, and develop a sediment.
Storage
Colloidal Silver does not need to be refrigerated. There is no determined shelf life for most atomic colloidal silvers due to their indefinite suspension of particles. All colloidal silver should be stored in glass amber or dark glass bottles.
What if I want to take less than 50 ppm?
Simply dilute the colloidal silver liquid further by adding more purified or distilled water to break it down to a smaller parts per million.
Does Colloidal Silver contain any allergens?
No. Silver Wings' colloidal silver contains no gelatin, wheat, sugar, salt, corn, eggs or yeast, and is formulated without the use of artificial coloring, flavoring or preservatives. We have found no known allergic reactions to properly prepared colloidal silver.
