Lisa Davis: I live in a town that’s about one-third conservation land. I love being out in the woods, they are wonderful, except for the ticks. I cannot stand those ticks, the Lyme disease that they can cause, and the issues that come along with it. We are thrilled to have Dr. Cass Ingram here. He will discuss Lyme disease – what it is, how you get it, and how to cure it.

Cass Ingram:  Almost all cases of Lyme disease -80% – occur within 100 yards of your backyard. Most cases are not among hikers and fisherman, and other outdoor enthusiasts. You can easily get it because dogs, deer, rodents, squirrels, and chipmunks can bring the ticks close to you and your home. Dogs can even bring ticks into the home. A deer tick is the size of a pin head so easy to miss. Lyme disease is a bacterial infection most commonly associated with a bullseye rash, but it doesn't present in all cases. Over the long term, a Lyme diagnosis can be missed as you can end up with a range of conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, TMJ, fibromyalgia, or neurological issues diagnosed as MS, Parkinson’s, tremors, or Bell’s Palsy. If you are healthy and then you are suddenly knocked 'down for the count' sometime between April and November, you must suspect Lyme so it can be effectively treated.

I cured myself, and that’s why I wrote the book, The Lyme Disease Cure. I got the miserable thing when I was in Wisconsin in the deep scrub. I was by myself, having the time of my life, doing research for that week. The last day I didn’t take any precautions, and a week later I thought I was a dead man. On my backside and I saw the remnants of a bullseye rash; my head felt like it was in one room, my body in another; I was burning up all over the place; my head felt it was going to explode; stiffness in my neck, stiffness in my spine; joints not working. I got desperate and said, I’m sick of this. I dug out a natural germicide – in this case old reliable, super strength P-73 oregano oil – took a whole bottle (despite the serving indications) and a glass of water every day for about five or six days.

I took forty OregaMax capsules and forty-five OregaResp capsules and guzzled some juice of oregano and I tackled this thing. I had a 70% improvement in five days. I had relapses afterwards, but I blasted enough of the infection down. It stayed in my joints because it digs in deep. I spent another year or more of trying to figure out how to get it out of the joints. I ended up in wheelchair twice because of this disease.

I eventually got rid of the miserable thing, and I made a discovery. I discovered that you can’t just do oregano oil. You've got to do some other things. I found that the herbs sage and rosemary, in the form of the OregaResp capsules. With the Lyme cases I’m seeing all over the world, I’m speeding up the reversal of the disease by adding in BoneActiv topical rub alongside BoneActiv capsules, and OregaResp which have rosemary and sage – aggressive use of all those, along with the basic protocol.

I was told by an old guy that had a longhorn cattle farm that when the longhorns get bit by a tick, the tick dies. You know why? It’s because of the sage. They eat the sagebrush, it’s in the blood, and the sagebrush is poisonous to ticks. So now we know how to cure Lyme disease and it’s all in my book, The Lyme Disease Cure, and on my website: CassIngram.com. It’s right there – the basic protocols are there.

Andrea Donsky: Thank goodness for what you're learning and teaching other people. So tell me, it’s summertime, people are walking in the woods, spending more time outdoors, but obviously that underlying fear of Lyme is there. What can we do to prevent it?

Cass Ingram: You've got to pull your socks over your pant legs – you can’t make exceptions when you’re in that environment. You have to wear lighter colored, long-sleeved clothes. Use tick-repellant sprays like Herbal Protec-X, and spray your dogs, too. Spray it on your socks and shoes, and on any ticks you see. It will kill a tick that’s embedded in a dog. Use it both to protect yourself, and to kill them should you see them.

Andrea Donsky: I have a bottle in my hands. It's comprised of wild rosemary, wild lavender, geranium oil, and lemongrass oil – that’s basically what makes up Herbal Protec-X.

Cass Ingram:  And cumin – cumin’s a big deal too. It’s larvicidal, it’s tickicidal, and it’s a repellent.

Lisa Davis: Does it work for mosquitos? I know it’s a totally different topic, but mosquitos love me.

Cass Ingram:  Yes it works for mosquitos, but you might want to look at Herbal Bug-X, that is made specifically for mosquitos and black flies. It is exceptionally effective.
