Electromagnetic fields (EMFs) are everywhere, and their presence and magnitude are increasing steadily as we continue to surround ourselves with more and more wireless electronic devices and transmission methods. While we like to revel in the novelty, excitement, and convenience these high-tech objects and services provide, we also are exposing ourselves and our families to multiple health dangers.
Many people recognize that ionizing radiation, such as X-rays and gamma-rays, pose significant health dangers (e.g., cancer risk) from as little as one exposure. However, frequent or chronic exposure to non-ionizing radiation (e.g., extremely low-frequency electromagnetic fields from electronic devices, microwaves, lasers, radio waves, power lines) is hazardous as well.

Exactly how dangerous are EMFs to your health? That’s a burning question and one that is being hotly pursued. There is a growing number of countries, organizations, and individuals taking steps to mitigate the health dangers of EMFs. Here are just a few of them. What are you going to do a about it? (Note: We provide an answer at the end.)
International Review
In 2011, the World Health Organization (WHO)/International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classified radiofrequency EMFs as possibly carcinogenic to humans. This decision was made based on a review of hundreds of scientific articles. Specifically, the reviewers reported that use of wireless phones was associated with an increased risk for a malignant type of brain cancer called glioma. Although the authors did not quantitate the risk, they did note that one study of past mobile phone use showed a 40 percent increased risk for development of gliomas among heavy phone users (average of 30 minutes daily over ten years).
Canadian House of Commons
A June 15, 2015, report from the Canadian House of Commons Standing Committee on Health called the EMFs from wireless devices a “serious public health issue,” including the risk of infertility, learning disabilities, and cancer. The Committee considered input from international scientists and representatives from the wireless industry before making their announcement. Based on their findings, the Committee recommended that Canadian doctors learn how to recognize the symptoms associated with using wireless devices and that parents be taught about the risks of EMFs.
France and EMFs
The French made history on January 29, 2015, when its National Assembly passed a national law designed to reduce exposure to EMFs. Among the 14 issues addressed in the law are a ban on the use of WiFi in nursery schools (children younger than 3 years), turning off WiFi routers in elementary schools when they are not being used for teaching, labeling of cell phones for SAR (specific absorption rate, which is the amount of radiation absorbed by the body) values, establishment of a national radiofrequency agency, requirement for cell phone ads to recommend products be held away from the head, and posting of wireless router locations.

Taiwan Protects Children
In January 2015, the Taiwanese government passed a law banning children younger than age two years from using TVs, smartphones, and other electronic devices. Parents who break this law are subject to fines up to 1,000 pounds (about $1,560). Parents are also warned to allow older children (up to age 18 years) to use tablets and other electronic devices for a “reasonable” amount of time (although this length was not defined).
According to the Taiwanese MP Lu Shiow-yen, the new law is an effort to protect children by preventing them from using electronic devices for more than 30 minutes at a time.
Recent research showed that more than 7 percent of the population in Asia is addicted to the internet. In China, 24 million young people are believed to be “web junkies.”
Belgium Phone Ban
As of March 1, 2014, the sale of cell phones specially designed for children younger than 7 years of age was banned by Royal Decree in Belgium. In addition, advertising of cell phones to this age group is prohibited, and the specific absorption rate (SAR) must be provided for every cell phone sold. Belgium took these steps because of reports of an increased risk of brain cancer associated with cell phone use and to raise awareness of this possibility among users.
Australian Warning
Beginning in July 2015, Telstra, the largest mobile phone company in Australia, has been sending reminder texts to its customers recommending that they visit the company’s website for information on EMF exposure. The messages are sent on a rolling basis, with new customers receiving one within two weeks of starting service, and existing customers receiving one yearly.
The Telstra website also offers customers information from WHO on how to reduce cell phone exposure, such as using hands-free devices to help keep phones away from the head and body, limiting the number and length of calls, and using phones in areas that have good reception.

Warnings From a Microwave Expert
Barrie Trower, a Royal Navy microwave weapons expert and physics professor, speaks out about microwaves, radar, and wireless devices and how they can damage the body and brain. (See video below.) He points out that microwaves can pass through the brain and affect cognitive functioning, and that this is a form of stealth weaponry employed around the world. For example, microwaves were used against the Catholics in Northern Ireland. He calls microwaves the “perfect weapon for a government to use” because it can cause neurological damage.
On the subject of WiFi in particular, Trower believes that “anyone who puts WiFi into a school should be locked up for the rest of their life,” because there are genetic consequences associated with exposure to these EMFs. That is, the low-level radiation is damaging our DNA, and children are especially at risk. Similarly, he explained that a woman’s eggs are 10 times more susceptible to radiation than all the other DNA in the body and that scientists—and the public as well—do not realize these dangers.
How to Protect Yourself
All of this information about EMFs is just the tip of the iceberg and reason to wonder how you can protect yourself and your family. You could (1) completely eliminate all exposure to power lines, electronic devices, microwaves, cell phones, and radio waves (probably not a feasible option); or (2) limit your exposure by turning off and unplugging devices when not in use, limiting electronic device use, and shielding yourself from harmful rays (much more practical approach).
To accomplish the latter part of the second suggestion, you and your family can place a protective shield on your cell phones and other electronic devices to protect against exposure to EMFs. The product is called an Aires Shield and is made by Aires Tech.
The Aires Shield transforms the hazardous waves of EMF into nearly completely harmless waves. You can attach the shield to your cell phone, laptop, tablet, or to nearly any clean surface. The shield is composed of five layers: a protective layer, silicone-based microprocessor, amplifying antenna, thermal infrared absorbing layer, and an adhesive layer. Together they can provide protection against EMF waves and the health problems associated with them, such as headaches, insomnia, nausea, neuroses, and stress.
