There's nothing worse than lying awake in bed at night worrying about not getting enough sleep. If this sounds like you, don't worry — you're in good company. More than one third of Americans don't get the recommended 7 hours of sleep each night. People who are employed, have a college degree, and are married are more likely to get enough sleep. People in the southeastern states or Hawaii reported sleeping less than the recommended amount.
