Loaded with potassium and other minerals to calm the nerves, celery is heart-healthy and colon-friendly (all those strings do a wonderful job as an intestinal “broom”). Munch on the satisfying crunch of celery to deal with nicotine cravings if you are quitting smoking.

Juice a bunch of celery for a great start to your morning – mix in a little apple juice and ginger for a sweet and zingy treat. Instead of reaching for chips, cut up some celery sticks to scoop up a healthy dip like hummus, baba ganoush or as a way to enjoy a little almond or cashew butter (the celery holds your dip or nut butter like a charm).
