How to Heal a Scratched Cornea Naturally

My youngest daughter was playing with my older daughter who accidentally scratched her eye with her nails (she was swinging her hands and unfortunately she hit her eye).

Luckily, my brother-in-law is an optician so we called him and asked him if we needed to go to the hospital. He said a scratched cornea usually heals within 24 hours. He said the key is to keep the eye clean in order to prevent infection, so he suggested we cover it with a patch. He said the hospital would probably prescribe antibiotic eye drops to do just that.

So I went to my natural medicine cabinet and gave her colloidal silver drops (1-2 drops) and put a Nexcare patch on her eye (you can find them at any pharmacy or store like Wal-Mart).

She was in pain on and off during the day and was pretty lethargic. I'm not sure if that was because she was in pain, or under the weather, or both. She kept rubbing her eye, but she was a trooper in letting us put the patch on her eye (and keeping it there).

We changed the patch twice during the day (including once before bed), each time adding another 1-2 drops of colloidal silver. I'm happy to report that by 10am the next morning, her eye was healed and she was back to herself. Had her eye still hurt her the next morning, I would have definitely taken her to to hospital, but luckily we didn't have to.

If you're wondering why I used colloidal silver in place of antibiotic drops, it's because it is a natural antibiotic. If you Google it, you will find a lot of negative press on it. However, take it with a grain of salt and do your research. I have read a lot of promising research on it, and use it regularly for ear infections, sinus infections, cough and chest colds, etc.

I would not recommend making it at home (remember the guy in the news from a few years ago who turned blue from ingesting his own homemade colloidal silver concoction?!)—only buy it from reputable companies. I personally use the brand Sovereign Silver by Natural-Immunogenics. I have met the founder of the company many times and we have discussed the studies in detail. They refer to their product as [colloidal] silver hydrosol in order to distinguish it from other brands of less quality.
