This topping is tasty on ice cream, mixed into steel-cut oats or other hot cereals, or even drizzled over Pumpkin Oatmeal Waffles or Pancakes. Look for organic or local apples.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon butter or coconut oil
  • ¼ cup Sucanat
  • 3 large Granny Smith apples
  • 1/3 cup pecans

Steps/Methods:

Preheat oven to 400°. Peel the apples and cut into thin slices. Combine the apples, Sucanat, butter, and pecans in a bowl, coating all the apples well. Spread the apple mixture out onto a cookie pan. Cook for 15 min. until the Sucanat has melted and the apples are soft and caramelized.
