Hot Tomato Sauce

Need to spice things up? This spicy soup is a great base for pasta, baked dishes and dipping bread sticks. One pot and super simple to make!

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp. oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1-1/2 cups tomatoes, mashed, with juice
  • 2 tbsp. tomato pure (paste)
  • 1 tsp. ground cumin
  • 1 tsp. ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp. ground chili peppers
  • pinch of sea salt

Steps/Methods:

  1. Heat oil in a saucepan.
  2. Add onion and garlic and saut until soft.
  3. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer until thickened.

Serve over whole grain noodles (whole wheat pasta, spelt pasta, brown rice pasta, etc.)
