Battle of the Smoothies: Tahini-Date vs Carrot-Mango-Ginger?

It's a battle of the smoothies and these two are loaded with probiotics, fruit, and herbs and spices. Cinnamon helps control blood sugar, turmeric is anti-inflammatory and ginger is great for you gut. Do you prefer a creamy smoothie or more fruit in yours? Let us know which one is your favorite.

Tahini-Date Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients:

1 container of original Bio-K

¾ cup milk of choice (dairy or non-dairy)

1 frozen banana, halved

1 tbsp tahini

2 dates

¼ tsp pure vanilla extract

1/8 tsp ground cinnamon

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in blender container in the order listed. Blend on high speed for 45-60 seconds until completely smooth. Yields about 2 cups (500 mL), serving 1 or 2.

Carrot, Ginger, Mango & Turmeric Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients:

1 container of original Bio-K

¾ cup coconut water or apple juice

1 cup fresh or frozen cubed mango

1 medium peeled, chopped carrot

1 tsp peeled and finely chopped fresh ginger

1/8 tsp ground turmeric

1-2 tsp honey, as desired

Directions:

Combine all ingredients except honey in blender container in the order listed. Blend on high speed for 45-60 seconds until completely smooth. Taste and blend in honey if you feel it needs more sweetness (it will depend on the ripeness of the mango and sweetness of the carrot). Yields about 2 cups (500 mL), serving 1 or 2.
