You may think that cabbage is best suited to raw dishes (like this delicious coleslaw), but this cool cruciferous vegetable is even better baked! Though it tastes amazing seasoned with just salt and pepper, get creative and try other spices – and don’t forget to let us know what herb and spice combos are your favorite!
3 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
1 medium head cabbage, cut 1 inch thick
salt and pepper
garlic, turmeric, cayenne pepper, or other spices – to taste
Preheat oven to 400 F. Place cabbage on greased baking sheet and brush with oil. Season with salt, pepper and any other spices you desire. Roast for approximately 45 minutes, or until cabbage is soft and edges have lightly browned.
