One of the best ways to avoid added sugar and Scary Seven ingredients is to make your own pasta sauce! The yummy tomato aglio olio (garlic oil) is the perfect complement to grass-fed meatballs.
Ingredients
1 lb extra lean grass-fed organic ground beef
1 whole garlic
1 bunch fresh basil
1 tbsp Maison Orphée grapeseed oil
1 sweet onion, chopped
8 oz mushrooms, sliced
2 cups diced tomatoes (or 1 can diced tomatoes)
2 tbsp dried oregano
1 tbsp Italian spices
3-4 oz chopped spinach
1 tsp crushed red pepper
2 tsp sea salt
¼ cup Maison Orphée organic olive oil
1 packaged whole wheat spaghetti, broken in half
¼ cup organic Parmesan cheese (optional)

Directions
Roll ground beef into little meatballs, about the size of large marbles. Pan fry meatball with no oil. Once they begin to brown on all sides, remove from heat.
In a chopper or or food processor, chop garlic, basil. Heat grapeseed oil on medium heat in a deep pan. Add the garlic and basil. Add onion, mushrooms, tomatoes, oregano, Italian spice, spinach, red pepper, sea salt and olive oil. Lower heat and simmer.
Cook pasta according to package directions. Place cooked pasta in a large bowl and pour veggie and oil mixture over pasta. Mix well. Serve with meatballs and Parmesan cheese.
