Andrea's French Toast

Andrea's French Toast 2

If you're looking for a crowd-pleasing breakfast, this caramelized French toast was a huge hit in our house-my husband loved it! Top with your favourite fruit for a simple but special morning meal. I used coconut palm sugar instead of refined sugar, but you can read more about other natural sweeteners here.

Mix eggs, milk, and salt. Dip each slice of bread in the egg mixture and cook 4 slices in the skillet until golden brown on both sides. Add the remaining butter to the skillet and cook the other 4 slices of bread. Set aside.

Add coconut palm sugar to the skillet, add boiled water, and stir. Coat each slice of French toast. Top with powdered sugar and sliced fruit.
